Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a bowl, whisk together coconut oil, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients into wet ingredients and combine. Mix in chocolate chips.
Optional: Refrigerate dough for one hour.
Roll dough into 2-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet 2 inches apart. Flatten each ball slightly and place in oven.
Bake 10-12 minutes until edges are slightly golden brown. Allow to cool before eating.
