Peanut Butter Banana Brownies
These peanut butter banana brownies are made with pantry staples, are fudgy, and ready in less than 30 minutes!
You guys, this is the ultimate brownie recipe! For those who love the peanut butter and chocolate combination, when you throw bananas in the mix, not only do they provide natural sweetness but more flavor too.
I am always looking for more ways to use the ingredients I have on hand. When you have an abundance of bananas left over, baking is where you can really use those. Normally recipes call for at least 2 bananas that are really ripe, so you can use these up in a hurry without them being wasted.

Peanut Butter Banana Brownie Ingredients
- Butter – allow time for the butter to soften
- peanut butter – avoid using the crunchy kind and go with creamy instead. When choosing peanut butter there should only be two ingredients on the label, which are peanuts and salt.
- salt
- maple sugar
- light brown sugar
- eggs
- vanilla extract
- Bananas – the riper they are the more sweetness they add
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- whole wheat pastry flour – if you don’t have this type of flour, all purpose flour can be substituted
- semisweet chocolate chips – use dark chocolate chips if you prefer

How to Make Banana Peanut Butter Brownies
Prep a 9×13 baking pan by spraying with non stick cooking spray or lining it with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together the salt, butter, peanut butter, and sugars in a large bowl using an electric mixer.
Crack the eggs in one at a time while mixing at a medium speed. Add the vanilla and mashed bananas, then continue mixing.
Combine the cocoa powder and flour in a small bowl, then pour it into the peanut butter mixture. Be sure to mix by hand, then fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the dish and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. When they are ready, the top should be a little firm and a toothpick should come out clean.
Storing and Freezing
Keep the leftover brownies in an airtight container or plastic bag once they have cooled completely on the counter for 3 to 4 days. You can also cover the dish with aluminum foil, the brownies just get a little harder in a shorter amount of time.
To freeze, transfer them to a freezer bag after they have cooled where they will stay fresh up to 2 months.
What Makes Brownies Moist And Chewy?
Fat content is what makes brownies moist, chewy, and fudgy. Also, not cooking them so long with help with the texture too.
Most traditional brownies recipes (or box mixes) call for eggs, oil, and water. In this case, our fat is coming from natural peanut and regular butter, so we don’t need those other ingredients.
