Mistletoe Mule
Nothing says holiday spirit like my Mistletoe Mule! An easy and festive holiday cocktail that will be the talk of the party!
For those who are looking for an easy and festive cocktail to serve during the holiday season, you are in the right place!
Today we are making my Mistletoe Mule that is super refreshing and has all of the holiday flavors like mint and the color of the season!
If you haven’t had a chance to explore my other cocktail recipes, I have made several mule recipes in the past, including my Rum Moscow Mule and the Virgin Moscow Mule.
Even though mules are usually served in the cute copper mugs, this one is so festive that you may want to use an actual glass. It serves well in a martini glass, low-ball, and even stemless champagne flutes. Most bars use these mugs because the beverage stays colder longer and mules are popular in the warmer months.
One of the best things about this vodka mule recipe is that there is no added sugar. Most mules contain simple syrups, but you don’t really need it.

What is a Moscow Mule?
Moscow mules are usually made with vodka, ginger beer, and lime. Obviously, since they have made their debut, there are tons of variations but the classic ingredients stay the same.
Ingredients Needed for Mistletoe Mules:
Be super festive by rimming the glass with crushed freeze-dried strawberries
vodka
lime juice
ginger beer
seltzer
pomegranate seeds
Mint sprig
Hang a candy cane on the side for the presentation!
How to Make a Mistletoe Mule
If you are going to rim the glass, dip the opening in a shallow bowl of water, then into the crushed freeze-dried strawberries.
Add a few ice cubes, followed by vodka, ginger beer, lime juice, and seltzer. Stir together.
Sprinkle in the pomegranate seeds and garnish with a mint leaf and mini candy cane!
This will be a crowd favorite so know that you can make mistletoe mules in batches (in pitchers).

Tips for Making
- This will be a crowd favorite so know that you can make mistletoe mules in batches (in pitchers).
- Also be sure to only stir and not shake. Because the beer is carbonated, you don’t want to taint the drink with a “flat” taste.
- You can also set out all of the ingredients with recipe cards for a “mule bar” and let guests experiment with their own concoction. See my suggestions below for different variations.
Should Ginger Beer Contain Alcohol?
No. Ginger beer doesn’t usually contain alcohol and is really only called beer due to the brewing process. If you need a brand you can trust, I use Gosling’s. Its purpose in mules is to give off a spicy flavor.
It’s worth mentioning that some would rather swap the beer for ginger ale, but it’s not nearly as flavorful.
Can You Use a Different Type of Liquor?
Yes! You can use rum, bourbon, Irish whiskey, tequila, or even gin and keep the other ingredients the same.
