- Filled with amino acids, protein from the tahini, and fiber
What is Miso Made Out Of?Â
Good question! Technically miso paste is formed from soybeans, some type of grain, a little salt, and is cultured with koji, which is Aspergillus oryze–– a type of mold. When you eat it raw (over a salad or as a dip, (any way when it’s not coming in contact with high heat) it actually functions as a probiotic.Â
There are actually hundreds of different types of miso and can be chunky or smooth in texture. While most Miso adds a salty, umami flavor to dishes, there are also sweet versions as well.Â
Is Miso Gluten Free?Â
Most of the time, yes. However, you always want to check the label to be sure.Â

How to Make Dressing with a Tahini and Miso Base
To make the dressing, add all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and whisk together. If the dressing is thicker than you would like, add a little bit of water at a time, until your desired consistency is reached.Â
Making Homemade TahiniÂ
Maybe you realized you don’t have any tahini or you forgot to grab it while you were at the store. Tahini is simply ground sesame seeds typically mixed with just a little oil. You can make your own by adding toasted sesame seeds to your high-speed blender. If it’s not as smooth as you would like, just add a little bit of oil.
Love tahini? Then you have to try my Lemon Tahini Dressing over Roasted Broccoli! Very tasty and another easy recipe to make!

How To StoreÂ
To make sure the dressing stays as fresh as possible, keep it in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to one week.
Burnt out on salads? Use miso tahini dressing as a dip for vegetables and sushi, drizzle over roasted vegetables and baked sweet potatoes, or you can make it a little thicker and use it as a spread for sandwiches.Â
