Chocolate Cashew Milk
Homemade Chocolate Cashew Milk is a creamy, delicious plant-based milk that is super easy to make and only uses whole ingredients!
Would you ever think you could make your own chocolate plant-based milk in just a few minutes? It’s actually a super simple process and you may not ever buy store-bought chocolate milk again!
This recipe comes in handy when you forgot to grab milk at the store, or if you just decide you want to experiment!
One of the main reasons people like making chocolate cashew milk at home is because you are totally in control of the ingredients. You don’t have to worry about preservatives and additives, and you can have some fun in the kitchen!
Kids will LOVE this version of dairy-free milk and it’s so easy to make they can join in!
Also, my version makes 5 cups, so it’s great for families who always find themselves tossing the leftover milk.
What Makes Cashew Milk Healthy
For starters, raw cashews are a great plant-based source of fiber, healthy fats, and protein. By using maple syrup, you add just enough sweetness with natural ingredients so there’s no need for a lot of added sugar.
Cacao powder (raw) is also rich in minerals and antioxidants. You can find tons of different brands to meet your lifestyle such as non-GMO, dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan friendly!

Ingredients for Chocolate Cashew Milk
raw cashews – you will need to soak your cashews ahead of time for at least 4 hours. You could also soak them overnight if that would be easier.
cold water
maple syrup – if you aren’t vegan, you can swap this for honey
vanilla extract
cocoa powder – you can also use cacao powder if desired
Pinch of salt
Cinnamon and nutmeg are optional, but sure do taste yummy!
How to Make Homemade Chocolate Cashew Milk
Once the cashews have soaked for the recommended time, drain and rinse them off.
Add the cold water, cashews, maple syrup (or honey if you decided to swap), vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg to your high-powered blender. Start the blend on low and increase the speed gradually over the course of 2-3 minutes, until it’s smooth and creamy.
Store the cashew milk in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Do You Have to Strain the Milk?
No, thank goodness! Because you are soaking the cashews ahead of time, then adding them to water, you don’t have to worry about the pulp getting in the milk!

Ways to Use Cashew Chocolate Milk
You can use this chocolate milk just as you would a conventional dairy milk product. Your kids would love it if you made their favorite cereal a little more chocolatey! Cashew milk goes great in smoothies, where you can add additional ingredients like protein powder and flaxseed meal for a powerhouse breakfast! You can ever skip the creamer in your coffee and add a splash of this nut milk for a mocha latte flavor!
