Health Benefits of Chia Pudding
Rich in Omega-3s: Chia seeds are a powerhouse of plant-based omega-3 fatty acids, which support brain health, reduce inflammation, and improve heart health.
High in Fiber: Both cherries and chia seeds provide a hefty dose of fiber, helping with digestion and keeping you feeling full longer.
Packed with Antioxidants: Cherries are loaded with antioxidants like anthocyanins, which may help reduce inflammation and support recovery after exercise.
Low in Added Sugar: Sweetened naturally with cherries and a touch of maple syrup, this recipe is a lower-sugar alternative to many store-bought puddings.
Balanced Energy: With healthy fats from the chia seeds, natural carbohydrates from the cherries, and protein from the milk, this pudding offers balanced energy to keep you going.
Ingredients Needed:
- Milk – can use cow’s milk or non-dairy
- Frozen cherries – allow them to thaw before adding to the pudding.
- Maple syrup
- Chia seeds
- Toppings of choice: fruit, granola, nuts
How to Make Cherry Chia Pudding
Add the milk, cherries, and maple syrup to a blender or food processor. Pulse until most of the cherries are broken down.
Divide the pudding between two containers or jars.
Stir in 2 tablespoons of chia seeds to each.
Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight.
Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Tips for Making
Blend for Smoothness: Blending the cherries with the milk helps evenly distribute their flavor and gives the pudding a naturally sweet and fruity base.
Mix Thoroughly: After adding the chia seeds, give the mixture a good stir to prevent clumps and ensure the seeds soak up the liquid evenly.
Let It Set: While you can enjoy it after an hour, letting it chill overnight gives the pudding a thicker, creamier texture.
Topping Ideas
Make this pudding your own by adding your favorite toppings. Here are some ideas that go great with the cherries:
- Crunchy granola or toasted coconut flakes
- Chopped nuts or a dollop of nut butter for a little extra protein
- A sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor
- A dollop of Greek yogurt or coconut cream
- Sprinkle on dark chocolate shavings, cacao nibs, or a drizzle of melted chocolate.
