This easy, fruity healthy berry crumble dessert will make the whole family happy! And it’s delicious and nutritious. Get the kids involved, they’ll love helping out in the kitchen. Feel free to swap out the berries for other fruit you like. Mango, apples, or pears are all tasty options.

Ingredients

Crumble Topping:

  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats
  • ½ walnuts chopped
  • ¼ cup maple sugar
  • 1/3 cup whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 5 tablespoons Canola oil

Berry Crumble:

  • 2 ½ cups frozen berries
  • 1 tablespoon maple sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 cup crumble topping

Instructions

Directions:

  • Make crumble topping: combine all crumble topping ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Mix berries, maple sugar, flour, and juice in a bowl. Divide the mixture into four 6-ounce ramekins, two 12-ounce ramekins, or one large ovenproof dish.
  • Top each ramekin with ¼ cup of Crumble Topping. Place dishes on a baking sheet.
  • Bake berry crumbles ~25 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with dollop of yogurt or whipped cream and mint leaf (optional).
