Pineapple habanero salsa is a fun and flavorful condiment that only takes a few minutes to whip and can be served as an appetizer or condiment!Ā

Making fruit salsas are a great way to combine sweet and savory flavors. You may want to dip a few tortilla chips in or add a scoop on top of grilled chicken or broiled fish. Either way, it’s delicious! Don’t forget that it also makes a great topping for taco night.

It’s such an easy dish to whip up and perfect if you need to use up some extra fruit. If you have extra peaches laying around, be sure to try my peach salsa too.Ā

This homemade salad recipe is also vegan, dairy free, and gluten free for those with sensitivities or allergies.Ā

How to Make Pineapple Habanero Salsa

In a medium bowl, combine all of the salsa ingredients together and stir. Adjust seasonings as desired.Ā

The Proper Way to Cut a PineappleĀ

I like to place it upside down 30 minutes before cutting.Ā

Lay the pineapple down on its side and cut off the top and bottom.Ā

Stand it back up, and trim off the skin.Ā

Slice it in half, then in half again. Cut out the core. Then you can dice it or cut it into chunks.Ā

Tips for Making and StoringĀ

  • Keep the leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.Ā
  • If you like a spicier salsa, use the whole pepper.Ā
  • When dicing the peppers, be sure to take out all of the seeds. This is where most of the heat is.Ā
  • Try to use fresh ingredients if possible, they just taste so much better!Ā
  • If you want to experiment making other salsas, strawberries and mangoes work well.
  • You can eat the salsa immediately or cover it with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge to marinate a little while before serving
  • To make a thinner restaurant style salsa, add all of the ingredients (you will also need canned tomatoes) to a food processor and blend until smooth. Add a little water if it’s too thick.Ā
