When warmer weather rolls around, the green goddess flavor is refreshing and so fitting for the season. I love making a batch of dressing using some of these similar ingredients that goes great with most salads. You can also keep it thick so it’s better for dipping.

The smoothie is no different! It’s packed with healthy fats, protein, a little fruit, and antioxidants. It’s also totally customizable based on your favorite greens and the ingredients you have on hand.

Why Are Green Smoothies Considered to Be So Healthy?

Green smoothies are considered healthy because they are typically made with a combination of green vegetables and fruits. Here are a few reasons we love this smoothie.

Nutrient-dense: The leafy greens and fruits are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It’s also easy to consume a couple of servings in one setting.

High in fiber: Green smoothies are high in fiber, which is important for digestive health and helps keep you feeling full and satisfied for longer periods of time.

Anti-inflammatory: Many of the ingredients used in green smoothies have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation in the body. Some also like to add spices such as turmeric.

Immune-boosting: The high vitamin C content in many of the fruits and veggies can help boost the immune system and fight off sickness.

Overall, green smoothies are a convenient and delicious way to pack in a variety of essential nutrients into your diet. When mixed together you can’t even taste the spinach or kale, so it’s perfect picky eaters.

Smoothie Ingredients

The base: you can use plain greek yogurt, low fat Kefir, or any variety of milk.

How to Make a Green Goddess Smoothie

Combine all of the ingredients into a high speed blender. Pulse until smooth.

Tips for Making

  • Using green fruits and veggies or light colored keeps the color of the smoothie bright green and vibrant.
  • A regular blender can be used, it just may take longer to mix.
  • We recommend making the smoothie right before you are ready to drink so the ingredients don’t separate, versus ahead of time.
